Capacity and Resilience Building of Women-led Businesses

Chrysalis is implementing the project “Capacity and Resilience Building of Women-led Businesses” under the initiative “Advancing the National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security to Address Socio-Economic Challenges in Sri Lanka.” Funded by the Republic of Korea and implemented in partnership with UN Women, the project aims to strengthen the economic resilience of women-led enterprises through comprehensive business development and peacebuilding interventions. In collaboration with the Women’s Bureau of Sri Lanka and the District Secretariat of Badulla, the project supports 120 women entrepreneurs from the Bandarawela, Ella, and Hali Ela Divisional Secretariats. Participants receive practical training in product development, financial literacy, marketing, and business counselling, along with targeted in-kind support for small-scale business activities. Beyond economic empowerment, the project also promotes social cohesion and peacebuilding by equipping women with skills in conflict analysis, negotiation, mediation, and community-based conflict resolution. Women’s working groups identify local conflicts and design initiatives to address them, supported through action grants.
