Ethical Tea Partnership – Phase II Project

The Ethical Tea Partnership – Phase II Project built on the foundations established in Phase I, continuing to strengthen worker participation, dialogue, and well-being within plantation communities through the expansion of Community Development Forums (CDFs).

Implemented by Chrysalis with funding from the Ethical Tea Partnership, this phase deepened community engagement and reinforced collaborative approaches to addressing workforce welfare and development challenges.

Implementation

Phase II focused on strengthening and expanding the Community Development Forums by:

  • Enhancing worker participation in estate-level decision-making.
  • Strengthening collective problem-solving mechanisms between workers and management.
  • Addressing issues related to worker well-being, safety, and community welfare.
  • Supporting sustained social dialogue and inclusive governance at plantation level.

Beneficiaries

The project directly benefited plantation workers and their families by improving access to participatory platforms, support systems, and collaborative solutions that enhance both working and living conditions.
