Lasting Change Fund Project

The Lasting Change Fund Project was designed to strengthen the economic security of women and girls in Northern Sri Lanka, with a special focus on women-headed households.

Implemented by Chrysalis with funding from CARE Netherlands and the H&M Conscious Foundation, the project supported women to build sustainable livelihoods through enterprise development and job creation, enabling them to improve household incomes and long-term financial resilience.

Implementation

The project focused on:

  • Supporting women-led enterprises through training and business development support.
  • Promoting job creation within local communities.
  • Strengthening income-generating opportunities for women-headed households.
  • Encouraging financial independence and long-term livelihood planning.
  • Through targeted business support, the project helped women transition from vulnerability to economic stability.

Beneficiaries

The primary beneficiaries were women and girls from women-headed households in Northern Province, many of whom faced heightened economic vulnerability due to conflict and displacement.
