The WEAVE I Project – Women’s Empowerment: Action, Voice, Enterprise (Phase I) focused on strengthening the economic independence of women-headed households in Northern Sri Lanka by building their entrepreneurial capacities and supporting the development of viable, sustainable businesses.
Implemented by Chrysalis with funding from CARE Netherlands and the H&M Foundation, the project addressed both economic vulnerability and gender inequality by equipping women with the skills, confidence, and resources needed to thrive as entrepreneurs.
The primary beneficiaries were women-headed households in Northern Sri Lanka, many of whom were rebuilding their lives and livelihoods after years of conflict and displacement.
This project was made possible through the generous support of our donors, whose contributions played a vital role in planning, implementation, and successful delivery. Their commitment to social impact and sustainable development helped drive meaningful change and ensured that the project objectives were achieved for the benefit of the communities involved.
