The WEAVE I Project – Women’s Empowerment: Action, Voice, Enterprise (Phase I) focused on strengthening the economic independence of women-headed households in Northern Sri Lanka by building their entrepreneurial capacities and supporting the development of viable, sustainable businesses.

Implemented by Chrysalis with funding from CARE Netherlands and the H&M Foundation, the project addressed both economic vulnerability and gender inequality by equipping women with the skills, confidence, and resources needed to thrive as entrepreneurs.

The project provided emergency flood relief to communities affected by severe flooding, ensuring a gender-responsive approach and coordination with local partners.
