On 5 September 2025, Chrysalis, in partnership with CARE Germany, launched Sri Lanka’s first Climate Resilience Revolving Fund targeted at micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) vulnerable to climate shocks. This fund is co-financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation (BMZ), the European Union, and Co-Impact.
The initiative aims to deliver fast financing through MSME consortia in flood- and drought-prone districts such as Badulla, Monaragala, Matale, and Nuwara Eliya. At the launch, Chrysalis CEO Ashika Gunasena stressed that protecting SMEs is about safeguarding livelihoods — particularly of women entrepreneurs who are disproportionately impacted by disasters.
The event also featured a symbolic disbursal of the first grant round and a policy dialogue on integrating climate disaster financing into national SME strategies.
