Building Capacity for Sustainable Change – REDEFINE Project

A 3-day residential training programme on "Building Capacity for Sustainable Change" under the Chrysalis REDEFINE Project was successfully held at NAQDA, Kala Wewa  Anuradhapura, bringing together 33 Government Officers from Anuradhapura, Mannar, Puttalam, and Nuwara Eliya.

These officers, who are directly working with project communities, enhanced their knowledge and skills in:

  • Social Design Thinking  and its practical application
  • Analysing nature-based conflicts using a human-centered approach
  •  Understanding gender dynamics through the Gender Equality Framework
  • Stakeholder mapping, empathy tools, and root cause analysis
  • Developing practical, field-level action plans

The training combined interactive sessions, group work, and hands-on tools to ensure participants are well-equipped to identify challenges, design inclusive solutions, and contribute effectively to community-level interventions.

This initiative marks a strong step toward strengthening collaboration between government institutions and communities, fostering resilient, inclusive, and sustainable development outcomes across REDEFINE project locations.

This is more than just training, it’s about action, impact, and resilience. Together, we are shaping a better future through peacebuilding and community leadership!
